Dr. Hisham Burezq

Dr. Hisham Adel Burezq is a prominent Kuwaiti Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, and Pediatric Plastic Surgeon. He has built a distinguished career centered in the State of Kuwait, possessing over 20 years of specialized experience since earning his higher degrees and professional fellowships.

After obtaining his medical degrees from Kuwait University, he underwent intensive residency training in plastic, reconstructive, hand, and burn surgery at McGill University. This was followed by a specialized fellowship in pediatric microsurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children (affiliated with the University of Toronto). Thanks to his elite qualifications—which include a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Fellowship from the American Academy of Pediatrics—Dr. Burezq is considered a highly prestigious figure within his country's medical community. He previously served as the Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at the Al-Babtain Center for Burns and Plastic Surgery and worked at Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Hospital. Additionally, he co-founded the Cleft Lip and Palate team in Kuwait, dedicatedly providing his services to patients in both the government and private sectors.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Burezq is a prolific researcher with nearly 30 published papers, a co-author of medical textbooks, and a regular lecturer at international conferences. His academic leadership includes his former role as Dean of the Faculty of Plastic Surgery at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations, as well as his ongoing role as President of the Kuwait Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Apart from his institutional achievements, Dr. Burezq is deeply committed to global humanitarian work. He is a co-founder of the Kuwaiti "Multaqa Al-Khair" Charity and the founder and head of the "Kuwait Surgical Hope" team, which has performed thousands of free surgeries for patients in need across Africa and Asia since 2009.

Currently, he manages his own independent private clinic and travels as a visiting doctor to Doha, Qatar, and Dubai, UAE. He also maintains active memberships in several prestigious organizations, including the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons.
